Blepharitis is inflammation of the tissues oscillococcinum of the eyelid. The eyelids are composed of several structures: - skin - muscle (orbicularis) - glands (Meibomian, Zeiss and Moll) - Tarsus oscillococcinum (in the upper eyelids) - mucosa (conjunctival) - tabs Its appearance is due to malfunction oscillococcinum of the glands lid margin. In these lipid secretion is decreased, resulting in an alteration of the tear film. This generates significant inflammation of the eyelids and surrounding tissues with the possibility of bacterial oscillococcinum infection. When it occurs in acute case, the glandular orifices are plugged and the stye is formed.

The massage should be done with cotton and warm water in a circular shape on the edge of the eyelids (with closed eyes). If not controlled with these measures may be added: 2 - Doxycycline or Minocycline 50mg 100mg c/12hs c/12hs for 3-4 weeks and then the dose is reduced slowly (always taken with food as it can give acidity) 3 - Tears lubricants every 2-3hrs 4 - Topical oscillococcinum corticosteroids (as required) 5 - Diet rich in fatty acids containing omega-3 (fish, olive oil, etc.)
