A letter went home to parents of students at Harrisonville High School, located at 1504 East Elm Street, on Friday, warning them of the issue and of the two confirmed cases the school has seen this week. They included a handout with information about the condition.
Scabies is a tiny mite that lives under the skin and can cause an itchy rash. It is spread mainly through frequent or prolonged direct skin-to-skin contact. It can sometimes spread indirectly by sharing fenistil articles such as clothing, towels, or bedding fenistil used by an infested person.
