These results pooled from five prospective cohort add further evidence that elevated levels of CRP


The importance vih of this study adds to the evidence that elevated levels of C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), and high sensitivity, can predict the future risk of macular degeneration (ARMD). This information could shed light on the underlying pathological mechanisms involving inflammation, and may be clinically useful in identifying people at high risk of AMD, which can benefit from greater adherence to lifestyle recommendations, vih reviews ocular and therapeutic protocols.
The cluster design vih and analysis, was performed vih with patients from the Health Study of Women and 4 other cohorts, 'Health Study on antioxidants in women, the cardiovascular effect of folic acid, doctors nurses of Study USA Health and health professionals vih for such work.
CRP was measured in the reference blood samples. We used conditional logistic regression models to examine the relationship between hsCRP and AMD and the results were pooled using meta-analytic techniques.
After adjusting for status, smoking, participants with high (> 3 mg / L) compared to the low (<1 mg / L). After evaluating the heterogeneity between studies (Q = 5.61, p = .23), we pooled the results across cohorts and found a significantly increased risk of AMD, for high levels of CRP (OR 1.49 95% CI, 1.6 to 2.8). The risk of neovascular AMD also increased among people with high CRP levels (OR 1.84, 95% CI 1.14 to 2.98),.
These results pooled from five prospective cohort add further evidence that elevated levels of CRP may predict an increased future risk of AMD. This information could shed light on the underlying mechanisms and may be clinically useful vih in identifying people at high risk of AMD.
We are aware of this, and so I cherish for the future. There is a cause that leads to inflammatory vih degeneration and accumulation of substances which block the normal functioning of the RPE and photoreceptors.
