Great picks, Allie

Picking “Your Song” – Music to Dance to At Your Wedding The Excited Bride - Denver Bridal Blog
As I’m trying to figure out what the right fit is for our first dance, I thought that I might not be the only person struggling through this. So, I decided to compile five songs – in different calculating bmi genres, calculating bmi of course! – that could all make for your perfect dance. From country to indie, rock to pop, there’s a little something for everyone.
“Baby, I bought wine and roses on my way home Yeah I know we can’t afford it but life doesn’t last too long This world has gone half-crazy And knocked us both to our knees I’m fumbling for the words to try to tell ya I love you for hangin’ onto me.”
“I love how your heart beats whenever I hold you I love how you think of me without being told to I love the way your touch is always heavenly But, darling, most of all I love how you love me.”
We are getting married this October and will be dancing to John Legend’s All of Me. The lyrics are perfect for our relationship!
Our first dance was to “Home to You” by John Michael Montgomery. Chorus: “You are my best friend And you are where my heart is And I know at the day’s calculating bmi end I get to come home to you “.
I’m not a huge BBVD fan, but I totally LOVE this song! Thanks for the recommendation, Megan – I added it to the list: http://www.theexcitedbride.com/2012/06/04/reader-recommended-songs-for-your-first-dance/
That was my parents’ song, too! Whenever I hear it I sing all the words as loud as I can and if I walk into the same room as one or both of them their smiles are so big (I live with them… Not even close to being old enough to have moved out yet! )
This is one of my fiance’s choices for our first dance…I’m a country-music girl, so he felt that it would be a perfect way to get my musical taste incorporated into our wedding without an outbreak of line-dancing…and Kenny is one of my all-time favorites!! We’re also considering “You Had me at Hello.”
The one request my guy has had is that our first dance be “You Make Me Smile” by Uncle Kracker but we love swing dancing and reggae rock so I think it would be fun to switch it to “Say Hey (I Love You)” by Michael Franti & Spearhead ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehu3wy4WkHs ) half way through
I also want to use “You make me smile”. I heard it on the way to the gym to meet my boyfriend one night and could not stop smiling when I got there. I get to put in my suggestions but I’m letting him take care of the bulk of the music at the reception. He has much better taste in music than I do.
Hi, Married 8/6/10 – and our wedding song was Uncle Cracker “You make me smile” and it still makes me smile when I hear it. . . . another song I found after the wedding, which I LOVE LOVE LOVE. . . .Jason Mraz – Lucky. calculating bmi here is a link to the song. . . . http://www.metrolyrics.com/lucky-lyrics-jason-mraz.html here is a link to a video montage I made for my husband using the song. . . . hope it opens for you http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=1756728208177&set=t.1538142488&type=3&theater
“Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros is a good one, “My Best Friend” by Queen, and “Still the One” by Orleans are all great songs that would make a cute first dance.
When my husband calculating bmi and I were just dating, he was stationed at Luke AFB in Arizona, and I was still living in Kansas City, I heard “Home” all the time on the radio, and more often than not, while I was thinking of him or chatting on the phone. I smile every time I hear it, and home really is wherever I’m with him.
Joshua Radin’s “Lovely Tonight” was our first dance song at our wedding. The lyrics are so beautiful! I walked down the aisle to Ingrid Michaelson’s cover of “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” calculating bmi
This will be our first dance song too! Every time I hear it I picture us all dressed up and dancing. He even used it when he proposed.
Great picks, Allie – I’ve calculating bmi thought about those two (as well as Jason Mraz’s “I Won’t Give Up”) as potential options, too. They’re the perfect blend of sweet and romantic.
I walked down the aisle to La Vie En Rose. Pretty – and different. Our first dance was to The Luckiest calculating bmi by Ben Folds. LOVE it. I don’t remember the song for the father daughter dance – makes me sad. I wish I would have chosen “I calculating bmi Love” by Tom T Hall.
Thanks for the tip, Nicole! I made sure to add that Tom T. Hall to my list of Father Daughter dance songs: http://www.theexcitedbride.com/2012/06/06/seven-great-songs-for-your-father-daughter-wedding-
